Emma
Palmer (previously known as Kamalamani)
Embodied-Relational Therapist, BACP-accredited Counsellor, Facilitator, Supervisor, Author

I've been working in private practice in Bristol since 2003. I'm an accredited member of the BACP, a senior accredited member of the National Counselling Society and a friend of the Black and Asian Therapists' Network. I'm a member of Psychotherapists and Counsellors for Social Responsibility (PCSR), and former steering group member and editor of Transformations, its in-house publication. As a facilitator I love holding groups in wild places – both very remote and in wilder corners of Bristol - learning in and from the elements, what the group brings and embodiment. I've authored and co-authored four books: Meditating with Character (Mantra Books, 2012), Other than mother: Choosing Childlessness with Life in Mind (Earth Books, 2016) and Bodywise: weaving somatic psychotherapy, ecodharma and the Buddha in everyday life (Somatic Psychotherapy Today, 2017) and #MeToo: Counsellors and Psychotherapists Speak about Sexual Violence and Abuse (PCCS Books, 2020), co-edited with Dr Deborah A. Lee.
