About this event

A weekend of shamanism and music making in the converted barn, round the fire and amongst the beautiful landscape at The Gathering Fields.

For thousands of years humans have gathered in circles to sing, drum, journey to other worlds and to honour the land. We can feel the wisdom of this
deep in our bones if we stop and take time out to hear the call – do you hear it?

We will be spending quiet time in the outdoors to tune into the music and rhythm of the earth, other living beings, and the land. Singing songs and playing with sounds and voice – exploring the wilder edges of our voices to find a freer untamed expression of sound.
Experimenting with ‘singing the land’ – how we might express the voice of other beings with whom we share the earth. Gathering around the fire and using simple instruments and voice to express the essence of our experiences. Underpinning all this will be Shamanic practices which we hope will support us to become grounded in our bodies and connect with our deeper selves and the ‘musical being’ that lies within.
Suitable for all levels of shamanic and musical experience.

We aim to create a powerful and healing experience to:
Explore our place in the creative flow of existence
Find the channels in which we naturally give and receive information, sounds, feelings, thoughts, intuitions, rhythm
Access a freer flow of inspiration, expression and playfulness
Connect with our authentic selves for empowerment and liberation
Support deeper connection with our own true nature and the living
world around us

Join us on a journey to tap into the rhythm of your wild soul!

Jayne Johnson – I have enjoyed music, rhythm and singing throughout my life, taking part in different kinds of drumming classes including African, hand frame drums, darabuka and Shamanic. I’ve enjoyed various singing workshops, including a recent one with Laboratorium Piesni, the Polish women’s band. I continue to explore the rhythms of my own heart, land and body. I have been facilitating Shamanic workshops and trainings for the last 10 years and as well as my one to one work in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire I’m also a trainer for the Embodied Relational Therapy and Wild Therapy Trainings.

Amy Boud – I am an experienced outdoor practitioner, musician and ecology graduate. I have always used music to bring my work to life, and recently completed the Kendal based Brewery Arts Centre’s ‘Early Years Music Trainee Programme’. I have experience of various musical settings, from playing guitar to community samba bands and drumming circles, and as percussionist in a local alternative folk band.
