I was a student of the analytic tradition (Freud, Jung, Laing) for many years before I started working as a therapist. I have worked in a variety of jobs, including postman, teacher and translator (during five years living in Paris), WWOOF volunteer and live-in carer.
Some of my important influences and inspirations are Jung’s ideas on dreams and the collective unconscious; the Process-Oriented Psychology (‘Processwork’) of Arnold Mindell; certain Buddhist practices and teachings; and critical perspectives on love, sex and relationships such as those discussed by Meg-John Barker.
I am currently doing a one-year course in Wild Therapy, an extension of the ERT training.
As well as central Norwich, I am beginning to work in Bramerton, in the countryside five miles south-east of the city, where there is both indoor space and ample opportunity for working outdoors among fields, woods, quiet lanes and the banks of the River Yare.
